    Handbrake 0.9.6

Just a comment for Handbrake users
I have found the recent release of the 64 bit version Handbrake 0.9.6 to be a "bit" flaky. Norton Insight community report a similar finding. I'm sticking with the new 32 bit version of V 0.9.6.

I was using the 32 bit version anyway, but I didn't know that a new version had been released. I just installed the 32 bit, and thought it might be a bit flaky also, because when I opened it, it popped a dialog saying that it wasn't compatible with the presets, and would make new ones, but then another window opened, saying that it had failed, and the log file indicated that the file was open elsewhere, even though HandBrake was closed prior to me opening it. I reopened it without the error dialogs, but it still makes me wonder.

I scanned the changelog, and though there was a lot of changes, it appeared that they were all just updates, rather than new features. I haven't used this new version yet, but was wondering if you had actually noticed an improvement of any kind?

I just tried the 32 bit version out a little and it seemed ok but will try a decent encode today. I think there are some enhancements in the audio area.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to deal with an LPCM 5.1 track.

I just tried a test run using a DVD that I had already encoded previously. On the first attempt, it indicated that it had finished encodes in about as many seconds, and the output files barely had any size. Scanning the log, the only thing that I noticed was that LibDVDNav had failed, so I reset for libdvdread instead. With that, it didn't breeze through the encodes as before, but it was so slow (less than 1 FPS), so I aborted. This may be due to the DVD that I used, because neither HandBrake or DVDFab8 would work with it before. I completed the encodes with WinX DVD Ripper Platinum, but even it had more problems than usual.
