Hi all i have just started getting a problem with media centre starting up randomly on it,s own for months i had it starting via a basic task in task scheduler in full screen in the morning , I have just done a clean install of windows 7ultimate reset the basic task and it worked for 2 days now yesterday it is randomly starting on it,s own strange i am not doing anything on the computer it just starts in full screen i deleted the basic task but it still doing it searched the internet for any help and most are telling me how to disable wmc but that,s not want i want i need to find what is triggering it to start
Launch Windows Media Center and navigate to Tasks>Settings>General>Startup & Windows Behavior and uncheck Start WMC when Windows starts.
You can also click Start and type msconfig in the Search field. Press Enter to open System Configuration. Click the Services tab and uncheck Windows Media Center.

Hi thanks for the quick reply the box in media centre was not checked in, the services tab the only boxes relating to windows media centre are scheduler services and receiver service

Go to the task scheduler and look in the Microsoft -> Windows -> Media Center section, and look at mcupdate and mcupdate_scheduled. Make sure neither have "wake the computer to run this task" in the conditions tab.
