    Help with .mov files

I thought Windows Seven played quicktime .mov files. My media player refuses to play them at all. I have the RTM version of Windows 7. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,

You might want to try downloading the latest codec pack from Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs. I've not heard that Windows 7 supports .MOV files but i know it supports H.264 or whatever it is

    Hope this helps :)

    Thanks Orbital

I have downloaded and installed the codecs you mentioned and all files seem to play now.

Glad Shark007 worked. I did want to mention that W7 does natively support MOV but MOV, like MP4 and MKV, is a container. W7 only has limited support for the container and codecs within.

And it is very limited support, I don't believe it supports seeking.
