Help with .mov files

I thought Windows Seven played quicktime .mov files. My media player refuses to play them at all. I have the RTM version of Windows 7. Anyone have any ideas?

You might want to try downloading the latest codec pack from - Windows 7 Codecs. I've not heard that Windows 7 supports .MOV files but i know it supports H.264 or whatever it is

Hope this helps

Thanks Orbital

I have downloaded and installed the codecs you mentioned and all files seem to play now.

Microsoft MVP

6x W2K8 R2 (x64), 6x W7 7600 (x64), 2x Gentoo (x64), 1x Ubuntu 9.04 (x64), 1x pfSense (FreeBSD)

Glad Shark007 worked. I did want to mention that Windows 7 does natively support MOV but MOV, like MP4 and MKV, is a container. Windows 7 only has limited support for the container and codecs within.

And it is very limited support, I don't believe it supports seeking.
