Integrating MPC-HC into 7MC and launch from Media browser

    Hi,

Have just switched to using MPC-HC from the trials and tribulations of using TMT and PowerDVD for DVD, Bluray, AVI and MKV playback.

I have set MPC-HC as an external player in media browser for file types: - MKV, bluray, DVD, AVI.
This works very well for MKV and other rips in "file mode" but I have many DVD or Bluray that are in ISO format.

Since I already have Virtual Clone Drive set up to launch my ISO files, what I get when I choose an ISO in Media Browser is a media Centre window asking me with what I want to play the file. Options being, TMT3, Power DVD 11 or TMT5 and either of those options will launch the movie, however,
Now I'm testing MPC-HC I want that to become one of the options in the list of players for the ISo.

    How can I do this?
Maybe a change to the registry but i would be a complete novice at that!!

    try this...

open the player using a rightclick on the shortcut, choose Run as Administrator
from the menu's, navigate, View | Options
click Formats in the left coloumn
place a check in the box for... [x] DVD-Video (vob ifo)
    scroll further down
place a check in the box for... [x] Blu-ray playlist (mpls bdmv)
    click Apply/OK
    close the player

Thanks Shark007 (love your codec pack and other tools from your site)

I wondered if the solution you posted above is the same as choosing the windows 7 autoplay options and the MPC-HC file type options?

Anyway, I have fixed it, well for bluray anyway by adding an entry point and logo for MPC-HC into WMC with Media Centre Studio and a corresponding entry point and AppId data for Bluray in the registry.

I followed this guide although DVD still doesnt perform the same way.

Apologies to seven forums for the link to another on AVS but it might help others too and we all like to do that if we can right!!
