Manually Viewing/Removing Codecs ?

Hi guys,

I'd like to manually view all the codecs on my system and possibly remove some of them. Are there any articles detailing that ?

I really don't want a program for this, I want to do it myself.

Thanks.

Active codecs are controlled in the following registry key.
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{083863F1-70DE-11D0-BD40-00A0C911CE86}\Instance]
