Windows 7: WMC Not Utilizing Both Tuners for Consecutive Recordings

That is to say, it does use both tunes but doesn't utilize both tuners.

I have a USB dual tuner and when ever there are two consecutive shows on the same channel it doesn't start recording on the second tuner for the second show.
Instead it waits until the first show has finished and then starts recording the second show on the same first tuner.

This always results in the second show missing the first few minutes.

Mythtv has a setting for each recording allowing you to assign a tuner for any given recording but you don't really have to set it because by default it jumps to the next available tuner if one is already in use.



With WMC however, there's no setting to assign tuners to shows and the default setting is to not start recording until the first show has finished even though there is a second tuner available!!

This only seems to happen when there are two consecutive shows on the same channel.
This happens frequently with the particular shows that I record and so as a result, I usually only get about half the shows in their entirety.

I wonder if this would still happen if I had two separate tuners rather than the dual tuner that I'm using now...?

If anyone has any input on this, I'd be grateful for any ideas.
(getting the myth box running again has already been thought of)
