Windows Media Center / live tv guide / "no data available"

i just setup "live tv" with a AVerTV USB TV tuner.
i followed the setup in WMC. when going to the
"tv guide" however many of the stations have "no data available".
is there someway to reset the Windows Media Center...or start
all over. i have internet cable connection through Century Link. thanks.

Your cable TV supplier "should" send along the full channel mapping data set during the setup process. Alas, as I am not yet King, you will have to suffer through the manual channel mapping process. This consists of manually searching the Zap2it guide for your area and trying to figure out which channel you're watching, then editing that channel to use the appropriate guide data which was downloaded during setup. If this sounds confusing, it is. It took me years to learn it well enough that I carry a lot of my local channel mapping data in my head.

I now have one cable card tuner that does all the work for me and MC even knows how to use the information with my regular tuners.

thanks for the help. since i posted the query i did a bit more research and got some additional help from a microsoft site:
You may see a smaller than expected number of channels listed in the Electronic Programming Guide when you start Windows Media Center TV Pack for the first time on a computer that has a Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) tuner installed

i still need to do some work however. i will only use this "live TV" on the computer occassionally. thanks again.
