WMC7 Video freezing after pause then play.

I am having issues when trying to pause then play most video types including mkv. If I pause and then play a video the audio starts just fine but the video is frozen until I skip forward or backward. It is only an issue if I pause then play the video within ~10 seconds. Not sure what is going on here or how to fix this. I'm using Shark007 codecs. What can I do to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

I'm using the HDMI connection on my mobo to connect to the tv.

Also, I'm loving your codec pack :). I remember I used to install codec packs and they usually broke more than they fixed. It's honestly not THAT big of a deal to me but this system must pass the girlfriend test.

check Control Panel | Sound, be sure the speaker config under the Properties is set to 'stereo'
on the Audio Tab of the Settings Application, (anolog) should be selected

Yep, the HDMI Output configuration is set to Stereo Audo channel.

Should I be checking for something related to the video settings? Obviously this is your area of expertise, but I tried using both Haali's and LAV's splitter for mkv files. Am I thinking about this from the wrong side? Strange, WMP seems to handle the situation better than WMC.

Have you tried using media player classic to play the .mkv files?

I mean they work just fine in vlc, but I haven't tried mpc on this computer. Would installing mpc make a difference? Windows Media Center is what I want to use though since this is a htpc.

On the Config TAB of the 64bit app, set the subtitle control to 'No Subtitles'
    see if that helps

I tried that and it still is happening. I noticed if this issue happens and I let it continue to play long enough, the video will FLY through and catchup to the audio. Kinda funny to watch.

you could try enabling 'hardware acceleration'
to do so, go to the H264 TAB of the 64bit app and click the [config] button next to the LAV selection, in the upper right, you can select what type of hardware acceleratrion to use.
