    copy dvd to hard drive

    Hi
A friend burned a home video to dvd and has let me borrow it. She has no objections to me copying the dvd to either my HD or to another dvd disc. Please could anyone explain how to do this and if I require additional software to complete this task. Thanks

    Welcome to the forums arranske

Since you have not filled out your system specs we must assume you at least have a dvd burner on your system; if so you can just do a copy using your burning software.

Since this is a home movie it will not have any copy protection and it will fit on a blank DVD so it is a very simple process.

    Hello and welcome...

You could do what Kipper suggested above.. or do what i'd do to backup DVDs to my hard drives...

Use Imgburn (The Official ImgBurn Website), which is a free multi purpose imaging tool that'll let you do all sorts of things with DVDs, CDs, and images of all sorts... The software is very easy to use and self-explanatory... Suitable for the beginner and the advanced user...
