Kewl. Also, if you have been using 7000 for a while, you might consider doing a clean install - it will help get rid of incompatibilities, and the best news is that a lot of drivers for hardware are working a lot better in 708 OOB, thereby eliminating the need to install other drivers. The added benefit, of course, is that you'll be able to start with no previous codecs installed, hiding, etc. just waiting to mess up your system....

If you cannot do this, I understand - but it would certainly be to your benefit to clean install as opposed to upgrading....

If you have enough HD space, consider decreasing your current system partition and installing 7068 in a new partition to test just the MKV playback issues (if any exist on your machine) with the Shark007 codecs on a clean install without having to wipe your HD, thereby preserving your current install *ad* verifying the issue at the same time....

    lol Scrooge.

The first is included with Shark007's codec pack.

The second *is* Shark's codec package for x86-64 OSs, although it is for Vista.

He has now started making Windows 7 specific packages, and all his stuff can be obtained from Shark007's Codecs Homepage

I am able to play mkv files now. I did a clean install of build 7068, then installed the shark007 codec pack, and also merged a registry file I found on hack7mc. Now all I need is to get my subtitles to play. I have tried to install ffdshow, but keep seeing so many different versions that claim to be the correct one. I have an 32bit system.

Grab the latest FFDShow for 64bit.

If this works then that is my last obstacle to watching Claymore in WMC - the STs.

    From Sourceforge.
