Windows 7 - Media Center lag while streaming TV

Hello. I have a satellite set box that connects to my PC via a composite wire. After some difficulties I configured media center to work and show the TV, but there is a problem. The video stream comes in a lag , the sound arrives first as its connected to a different spot but the video trails 1-2 sec behind. Also features that my set - box has such as showing the next programs and program time and so forth comes in a lag aswell. For example when I press on my remote to open up an information box , it appears 2-3 seconds after the initial press.

My guess is that the automatic recording is the cause , but I have found no way to disable it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
