Having trouble loading my cd onto laptop, works fine in stereo

    Hey guys,

I'm having trouble loading an audio cd on my laptop. The cd itself works just fine in my car stereo so I know there's nothing wrong with it, but it will not load when I put it into my computer. All my other CDs will load with no problems.

When I insert the disk it makes a funny noise - like it's trying to spin but keeps getting stopped.

Sometimes iTunes opens up and asks if I want to import the CD. If I say yes then I get a message saying that the import cannot be completed and that I should check my internet connection (which is just fine). If I say no then iTunes freezes and the computer gets slow.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

My guess is that this particular CD fails the error correction attempts by your optical drive.(It is a media + optical drive combination at work. Certain optical drives may do a better error correction)

Try the CD in another computer. If it plays well, copy it to a good optical media and try the copied CD on your computer. If it plays well without any hiccups, then my guess, I guess, stands validated.:)

    Hey,

it can be a copy potection issue. I have the same with a CD and it seems many CDs from Warner company (and other comanies too i think) have this protection. Check this link, they advise to do a firmware update of the CD drive:

CyberPower: warner brothers cd's and windows7

i personaly haven't tried it yet. good luck.
