old problem new question

The last post was almost 2 years ago so i am starting a new thread.

I have a sony receiver with separate 5.1channel INPUTS. I bought it when dts had just arrived and not every movie supported it. the dvd player was sony and fed each channel separately. i do not have a tos link input on this receiver.

with my media center pc i have jacks for each channel that i could feed into the sony receiver to the speakers.

hdmi killed tos link. i would like to have a way to run hdmi into my media center pc and have it decode and output on each channel. i do not want to buy a separate decoder when i have one in my pc.

i want all video sources to feed my computer for media center and have proper audio out.

i know hdmi was designed to only operate in certain ways legally. i do not want to do anything illegal i just do not want to buy a receiver when i already have one.
