    WMC not showing .WMV files

I've imported a folder of videos into WMC and it shows the .MP4 but doesn't show .WMV.
If I open Media player it shows and plays all of the files.
I thought it was not updating the folder so, I added some more .MP4 and they show up and play.
Tried converting a couple of the .WMV in the folder to MP4 and they don't show up before or after converting.
Any ideas on what's wrong or a better place to ask?
    Thanks!

Run REGEDIT from the Start/Run dialog.
Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, scroll down to the WMV entry.
Click on WMV entry - on the right should be an entry for PerceivedType.
    That entry should say "video".
If it's not there, add it by right-clicking on WMV and selecting New/String Value.
    Enter "PerceivedType", then press Enter.
Double-click on PerceivedType, then in the dialog enter "video".
