Windows 7: WMC NAS Troubles

WMC NAS Troubles

Hi - I have a Synology DiskStation DS212j which I access from either a Windows 7 x64 box via WMC or xbmc, or through a WDHTV. This arrangement has worked very well but I recently changed and rationalised the directory structure on the DiskStation. Now, having reset the library on the Windows box to point to the new folders, supplied the necessary username/password, etc, I am having a very curious problem; if I access the files, say a movie, via the WDHTV, there is no problem - but if I use WMC, the file will play for about 20 minutes then freeze, and I get a message saying Windows cannot find the file. However, if I access the files via xbmc, there is no problem. The one reason I don't just dump WMC altogether and use the other two methods exclusively is WMC's superior zoom function. Now I could at least understand if this 'file not found' message appeared at once, but why 'lose' the file 20 mins in? And also, if I access the files on the NAS via WMC on my laptop (Windows 7 HPrem x64), again, no problem. The problem definitely seems to lie with WMC/Windows so I'm hoping someone who knows more about WMC has an idea.
