Cannot open Windows Media player or internet explorer

    Hi

I an unable to open windows media player or internet explorer, when i open internet explorer it looks like its about to load up my homepage but i get nothing but a blank page. Also when i tried to open skydrive that wouldn't work either.

I tried to open windows media player today and that wouldn't open either.

I can use firefox that works ok and vlc player but anything to do with windows will not work. The only thing new i put on my laptop was zune for my new Samsung Omina 7 phone. However internet explorer was not working prior to this.

Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Tried it, it found nothing. I did a system restore that hasn't worked either as i can't seem to restore to a point previous to the trouble.

I'm going to give it to someone a little more expert than me before i do more damage than good, thanks for your advice. Even though i'd much prefer to solve it myself.

Hum well you cannot damage it WW just as matter of interest how much data have you got on this machine? Because you also have other options now.
Take a look at this Troubleshooting

Also you can back up all your data docs pics etc and do what is called a factory default that is because when they made your machine they put the install on a partition that cannot be "broken"

Now powering on and tapping the right key will take you into the factory default and put the computer back to out of the box condition (brand new). But it will lose all the data and you will have to install the updates again plus what apps you have on it and the data you saved but at least the install will be "clean", and everything work as it did originally.

But first take a look at the tutorial!

Let us know what you want to do I will find that key in the meantime, so don't go wasting money o something that might be easy fixed - yet LOL!!
