VLC player the best to use FLV?

I have excellent reviews of VLC from other people who have used it. I used it more the Windows Media Player or Media Center. I avoid Media Center all together for other reasons. But I have other video formats (.mkv, .mp4, .flv, .webm, .mov) and it seems like VLC can handle them all. Any one else have any other opinions or options for someone like me who uses multiple video file formats other than just .avi?

i use splash player pro . i moved from media center to it a couple of years ago. best one ive used. vlc has loads of features and settings
splash needs very little messing with .
there is a lite version that is free. give it a try see what you think
the only file type i have it wont play is flv. for that i use vlc.

VLC doesn't work as well as people say it does i recently used it and it would quit 10 seconds into the feed

I tryed different things to make it work but the same results i wasn't the only one who had that isssue

I would check my options before thinking VLC would be something to use

I also used to use VLC but it couldn't play large AVI files and had some other issues. If you want you could install the FFDshow codec and use Windows Media Player, which by far is my current favorite solution.

You are looking at it the wrong way. Just get codecs and you can play anything on any player.
I use K-Lite Codec Pack.
I also use Media Player Classic that comes with it for video.

I recommend getting just the standard version and adding the x64 bit version for x64 bit pc's.

The only video codec that is not included is realplayer codec so i installed Real Alternative aswell.

Never had anything i couldnt play. :D
