    organizing movies

I just starting using media center from my win 7 box to connect to my xbox. All of my movies have been digitized and were previously kept on an external HD, which is now in my Win 7 box. Everything works great streaming to my xbox my problem is that all of my movies are missing all of their cover art and there is no way to organize them besides by name, i.e. genre. Is there anyway to add this info in or do I have to re-rip all my media?

Have a look at the Media Browser sticky at the top of this section.

If you have all your movies in their own folder Yammm will get all the metadata you need as well. See Orbital Shark's guide: Media Center- Setup Movie Library

Check out My Movies. Version 3 is set for final release coinciding with the release of win7 and it's pretty awesome.

    movie organizer

I would also suggest trying Movienizer to organize your movies and collect all information about them (covers, crew, plot, raiting, box-office etc..)

How about we stay on topic and help the individual with his requested support for Windows Media Center as opposed to adding other programs?

Turn both updates and optimization on in WMC and give the system time to run the daily updates (broadband speed will greatly help) and to complete indexing - if the movies are legit and not downloaded versions you should notice that WMC will add the artwork assuming you have added your collection to the video library. Also verify that write permissions are default on the drive/folders. If you have blocked permissions or write access to system, for example, the folders cannot be updated with artwork.

That being said, even though W7 WMC supports more movie formats, not all are...what are the file types/extensions?
