How to create playlists in WMC with a large library

Okay... Please don't reply like the 1000's of answers I've found here and on the 'net saying
    1-Click Libraries
    2-Add folders to library
    3-Click Create Playlist
    4-Select songs
    5-Save

This is obvious and frankly after getting 50+ responses elsewhere stating the obvious I'm hoping a real user that has a scaled up system can articulate a useful answer.

The MOST common way Windows users organize their music files is by folder; IE: ..\rock ..\country ..\classical ..\johns music ..\janes music ect.
    (Obviously)

So in WMC, following the logic written by all respondants (or illogic). You would add these folders to the library, then create a new playlist, the select the song you want to be part of this new playlist.

    Right?

Except that in my and millions of other music lovers cases... there are 10, 20, 50,000+ songs in the collection. It is IMPOSSIBLE to 'select' songs for a decent playlist when anyone has a large collection.

So, I'll try again here since this forum seems to have a bit more creative thinkers... How to create a playlist in WMC... The obvious answer would be to have the option when creating a new playlist of selecting by folder as well as by genre, or artist etc... because THAT is how EVERYONE organizes their files on disk at some level.

    Any ideas folks?

    Thanks

I do not how to accomplish that within Windows Media Center directly, in fact, I'm fairly confident it cannot be done. WMC was designed to access and play already-created content or playlists, not generate playlists. Your best bet would be to usee ThrashZone's advice, and take advantage of Windows Media Player's functionality to generate your playlist (by genre, artist, date, etc.) and then access the playlist file within WMC.

Supported Media Types for Windows Media Center
    Working with Playlists

The Windows Media Center SDK does not provide any methods for creating playlists. However, you can create playlists outside of Windows Media Center and play them. For example, you can create a Windows Media Player playlist file in .ASX or .WPL format, and your application can play the playlist within Windows Media Center.

You can play audio and video playlists, although Windows Media Center cannot play nested playlists (a playlist in which one or more entries is another playlist). For a playlist to work, each entry in that playlist must be a media file. Furthermore, we strongly recommend against the use of server-side playlists because server-side playlists are not supported on Media Center Extender devices.
