Windows 7: Media center artifacts after waking from sleep

Win 7 Ultimate

I updated the drivers from the Shuttle website too but no luck. I'm just shutting down my PC for now. I thought it could be a hardware issue but looks like you have tested on Vista and it works fine . Thanks for the update. I'll post if I find the fix.

Windows 7

Hi, I know its been a long time, but this finally seems to be fixed.

The problem seems to have been related to 7600 cards, but nVidia have finally fixed it with the 196.75 drivers. Now a very happy camper, just disappointed it took nvidia so long to sort it out

Valleyman, I was little excited when I saw your post but unfortunately Nvidia pull the 196.75 driver out. Looks like there is a Fan issue with this version so I have to wait again now. Thanks for your update though. I will be keep checking NVidia for the next release.

Trying running through the "Configure your TV or Monitor" option in Settings->TV.

Worked for me when this started happening after a few updates I did.

Win7 Ultimate 32bit

Hi All
Just a few comments based on my personal experience:

I've seen artifacts appear when video card memory is either failing or is running too hot. Is there enough ventilation between the memory chips on the video card? Maybe add some video card memory heat sink, or, add a slot cooler. Maybe improve overall case ventilation.

This may explain why some folks "don't" experience this issue when the system has been completely shut down. I wonder if the Video card is still getting power when the system is in sleep mode. Also, it also may explain why there aren't any artifacts when switch to non-full screen mode.

What about "slowing down" the memory bus/clock on the video card? This test will immediately rule in or rule out the video card memory.

I personally believe its a hardware issue with the 7600GT. I have not heard of this problem being unfixable with any other video card. I have since moved to using laptops only so I don't even use my desktop anymore and no longer experience this issue on my laptops.

Just my .02.
