    Trying to Rip CD

    Hi there,

I am trying to rip the 6th CD is a 10 CD language course.

Unfortunately it seems Disk 6 is being read as Disk 2 when inserted, and therefore it won't rip it as it think Disk 2 has already been ripped.

I tried renaming the ripped version of Disk 2 but it still seems to think that Disk 2 is already there?

I also went into Windows Explorer and manually changed the folder name for Disk 2 but this does not seem to be being picked up by WMP?

Can anyone tell me an easy way to sort this out?

    Thanks

Have you tried restarting your Pc it might be a issue with the com port

Restart and try again if that doesn't work we will have to go through the symptoms you see

He is using Windows media player he said it worked before he had that issue

So I am assuming there was a Com error because when it does that the program is still busy sometimes and a restart breaks it

I use the free "Audiograbber" for CD ripping. I have several programs that will rip CD's but Audiograbber is the best.

Audiograbber, free CD ripper, mp3 encoder and audio recorder for Windows

I would go with fireberd's suggestion. If you insist upon using WMP to rip, rename the other disc, burn the next one, then rename back to the proper name.

You may also try IsoBuster to extract audio from the CD. See my post here. Can't rip a certain CD
