Media player Not working, Files not starting

Windows 7 32bit / Panda vaccine immunise used to halt auto play on system.

Insert CD into drive /open my computer /open cd drive /files are on cd list ,but refuse to play.
Open media centre and all libraries are shown/ lists of music and playlists are shown ,but can not get any file to play in media Player 12.

All files get error message (media player encountered an error during playback) all links now have a red crossed circle.or a blue asterisk in Media Player windows.

Yet the (my music shortcut ) on desktop which holds original files to all music and playlists continues to work and play?????as normal .
It would seem as though Media centre has lost all links to my files .
Turned off Panda vaccine and scanned system with Microsoft system scan ,via command line and No issues shown.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
