WMC extender not working on xbox 360
i have recently have a change round at home, moved my pc to a dedicated monitor rather then my nice big flat screen, to keep the better half happy so i can devote more love to skyrim as we all know its a game that requires much love to keep it happy
so needed to set the xbox up as a media centre, simples me think, according to the guides its a 2 min job, yet no luck,
input the 6 digit code into WMC from the xbox, hit next and get configuration error,
im using a wired connection from the xbox to my router. i know the connection is good as it finds PS3 Media server easily enough and lets me stream via that all be it for 5 mins then stop's but its frustating me that i cant use WMC.
ive tired all the usual , making sure my firewall is set to allow, all sharing options are allowed etc, turning off media centre in windows features, restarting pc and still not working. spend most of yesterday looking at various websites and trying all the different ideas, pretty much all of them suggest the same course of action, have checked the connections on the xbox, its finding the internet, can sign in xbox live, no problems, as i said its find ps3 media server without a problem, so its not a connection issue, so it must be a WMC issue.
im using win 7 32 bit, all updated and working fine.
so i bow before the collective greatness of these forums who have help me out in the past to see if any advice or suggestion can help
