Hi, I have a digital collection of my Blu-Ray movies on my computer, as I use my PC for pretty much all my entertainment needs. The files are all AVI files, and I noticed on some of the larger files (longer movies), if I've been watching a movie for a while, am getting toward the end of the movie, but need to stop watching and come back to it at a different time for whatever reason, when I open the file again later and try to return the progress slider to the point at which I was last watching, Media Player shows a black screen for a second or two and then defaults to the "stop" screen (the blue background of Media Player). It seems to be occurring more on longer movies such as Troy, Django Unchained, etc. and it seems as if it simply won't pull up the progress of the movie from the slidebar at the bottom if I click or drag it past roughly 2:30:00. It seems to vary slightly, but that seems to be the closest to where it has trouble, seeking for a time past which it won't pull up the progress of the file.
Granted, this is mostly just an inconvenience, it's not exactly the end of the world, but I find that if I actually want to sit down and watch the end of one of my movies that I was close to finishing, I have to seek back prior to when I actually had to stop watching it before, and due to that, I have to watch scenes that I already saw recently, sometimes multiple times--depending on if there are any further interruptions. Does anyone have an idea of what may be causing this or if there's something I can do to troubleshoot it or possibly fix the issue?
For instance as an example, in the Dark Knight, I was trying to remember Gordon's Quote about the Dark Knight at the very end of the movie. I could have looked it up, but I kind of wanted the whole experience with the Hans Zimmer soundtrack in the background, so I tried to get the movie file to seek toward the end with absolutely no luck at all. Also, I know there's a scene at the end of the credits for Django Unchained, but when I first watched it, I closed the video before waiting for the credits. Then I learned about the scene, tried to go back and seek to the end of the movie. Same thing happened.
