PC media remote launches VLC
Hi guys, I has a problem.
I recently purchased a fairly cheap little media remote for my pc. I mainly intend to use it when listening to music on WMC and, on the whole, it works a lot better than I had expected. I do have one little niggle with it though. There is, as on a lot of PC remotes, a dedicated button for launching a media player. Mine seems to want to open the VLC player and, obviously, I'd like to get it to open WMC if at all possible.
My noobish attempts at changing all default programs for individual files and setting WMC as default in control panel have both had no change. Uninstalling VLC player has had the effect of now bringing up a dll caution...
You are attempting to open a file of type 'Application extension' (.dll)
So, I'm assuming, with my limited understanding of these things, that the button on the remote is launching some shortcut, or even program? Does anyone know of, or have any idea how to change this to launch WMC? I know I could just launch WMC from the start menu, but this is one of those things that's just going to niggle at me until I get a definite answer from one of you guys that actually knows what you're doing
Thanks in advance for any help.
P.s. I don't know if this helps, but the remote in question is the Justop JJB-11Q. Sorry for the amazon link, I couldn't find the exact model on the Justop website. This is close, but they seem to have removed the dedicated buttons and changed them to function keys.
