    Uninstall and reinstall - it will do a tuner and channel scan.

    I know I'm raising the dead here. But I just figured out the underlying cause here (it was REALLY frustrating for me).

    WMC will use multiple sources for a channel. In my case, CBS is channel 19.1, (but actually broadcast on 10.1). For some random reason, WMC had tuner 0 set to tune on 10.1 and tuner 1 set to tune on 24. While I was watching 19, WMC was using tuner 0, but was trying to record on tuner 1. When I hit the record button it would throw some sort of a signal error. All I had to do was edit the source for both to point to channel 10.1. Problem solved.

    Glad it's OK now.

    If you ever have to uninstall and reinstall, you'll know exactly what to do.
