    Poof!! Tuner gone!


    Odd problem..
    Usually WMC comes up no problem when started, been working fine for couple of years. I usually have the tuner on a specific channel on startup. All of a sudden WMC starts and it hangs on "Please wait. Searching for tuners." Channel Guide comes up ok. Never had this problem b4. Checked connex, system restart, etc. Still no joy.
    Hauppauge PCTVHD Stick 801e running Pinnacle TV Ctr 6.4.

    Any suggestions?
    Drivers maybe?

    Did the thing get unplugged?
    If you plug a tuner into another port, WMC has to setup TV again.

    Went through Setup TV again. Still nothing. Maybe the tuner just died.

    With it plugged in, does the tuner show up in device manager?

    Does not show up in Device Mgr. But I get an error indicator on the USB hub it is connected through. Probably that.
    will check it out later.

    That was it. USB hub glitch. Power down/power up reset did the trick.
