Windows 7 Home Premium Media Center Stopped Working

Media Center has just ceased to function.

I use my desktop as my television.

MC will load. I can navigate the various menus. I can access a list of recorded tv programs, but when I try to play I get the message "Media Center Has Stopped Working."

I can access the TV Guide. When I click on a program to access the show I get the same message.

When I try to use MC to play a DVD I get the same message.

MC seems to work fine for accessing music and pictures--I never use MC for these functions, but tried them to see what would happen. Seems OK for these.

When I try to use the Netflx plug-in through MC I get the message "ERROR There was a problem retrieving data. Verify your internet connection is working..." My internet connection is fine.

I have already tried (three times) disabling and enabling Windows features and it has achieved nothing.

    Please help.

Just discovered: if I open MC, navigate to the TV menu and click on Live TV it will work. Changing channels works. So the issue seems to be limited to working from the TV guide, recorded tv and playing DVD. However, If I try to record the program playing I get the "has stopped working" message.

Also, when I navigate to my "Recorded TV" folder and click on a program, choose "Play with Media Center" nothing happens.
