    CDs are seen as empty

I have CDs that I created a few years ago to archive some important stuff. I recently tried to use them but Win7 in the popup dialog box asks me the how I want to use the disk (as CD or DVD). So, I check what's up in Win Explorer and the discs are said to be empty. I know they have content because I have used them previously. I recently had an update. Could that have done something?

    thanks, Fra

If its just specific discs, I would suspect the discs are bad. I've seen reports of failed burned discs after two years. Also, if they were RW discs I've seen a lot of problems with them losing format and/or data.

Hello Frank well that's easily done mate just do a system restore to before the updates, and if want my advice set the updates to let you know they are available but let you choose see pic/s

In one pic is the setting and in the other where you will find restore points further back than what shows up as available

Oops sorry firebird didn't know you were posting
