can't play mp3 on my windows N edition ? -on songbird

Hey, I use a N version(doest come with windows media player and dependencies) of windows,
and I cant get songbird to play mp3 files.

Does songbird uses WMP codecs? I believed it was like vlc, which works on my computer and is totally independt of WMP. And is there a way to replace the WMP by other codecs or libraries ?

I'm not familiar with songbird, but you can use WMP with the "N" version:

The Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N and Windows 7 KN will install Media Player and related technologies on a computer running Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN edition. For further information, please see http://support.microsoft.com and query the Knowledge Base for the article number KB968211
