WMC from Win 7 to Win 10

Hi all, just wondering if WMC can be grafted from Win7 to Win 10.
Much like WinMail from Vista to Win 7.
I am sure that chances are slim but fingers crossed as this will be a huge factor in Win 10 going to my machine or not.

From posts on the Windows 10 forum, Media Center is dead. Thus I don't think it can be installed.

Hiyya MOM mate I did an install of the 10 over a 7 install I was using see this Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation - Windows 10 Forums I am sure this is what I followed.

In nay case I cloned the original 7 install and put the 10 onto the second (cloned) drive that way if I don't like the 10 after all I can always swap out the second drive for the original and just carry on with 7.

I found out by trial and error how the builds are updated and it is just that - an update as the build number is constantly changing it seems to me.

If you want to find out more then head over to the 10 forum - same folks so no problem you just need to set up and account like here.

PS Meant to say the WMP came across unlike the clean install method doesn't.

WMC is not compatible with Windows 10. getting alternative is the best workaround.

Yes, I understand I will need something else.
I just enjoy WMC I always regarded it as an integral part of Win7.
I was hoping the miracle workers of Seven Forums could extract it and make it an installable program for Win10.
They did it with WinMail !

Yep lucky I did the transition the way I did as I have no idea why they dropped it.

Having said that they have dropped a lot of things that are simple in 7 and some things when I ma on the machine with 10 I get the feeling you need a PhD in computer science to complete even the simplest of tasks.

I spent about half a day on it and got nowhere, I then went on to test replacements for my tuner needs and have settled with SichboPVR - Free PVR software for Windows®

Thanks for info. I'll give that software a spin on my test W10 box when the upgrade arrives.
