    video library does not 'update'

    Hi all,

As the title of my post says, I cannot seem to get MCE7 to automatically watch and update my video library I have selected in which folders my files are (they are on another computer on my network) but whenever I add or delete something from that same folder, the video library still sees the old situation. I have tried to use WMP11 to watch the same network folder, but that worked one time only, and never since ...
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Create a user account on the other PC that has the exact same username and password as the account used to create the local content. Both PC's to have matching accounts. On a home LAN you can then move the files around (move not copy) also without restriction as long as the user has the proper priveledges on both PC's..

There are also some known limitations to what files types can be automaticaly added, what file types are you trying to add? What version of Windows does PC # 2 have?

    Let us know your results...

Hi There I have just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and I have a Xbox360 connected to my PC. I can load the Media Centre just fine and it recognizes the folders that I want to view but whenever I add a new tv show or movie to the folder it won't find it. I have tried everything I know to make sure I am file sharing all folders and movies. The file types I have are pretty much all AVI.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

First make sure you have your WMC and XBox setup correctly and then remove the folders from the xbox menu and add them back in after restarting your xbox. A quick search of the forums will bring plenty of posts on how to setup the WMC/Xbox and it is also available on the W7 website and the XBox website. Review those first and if you continue to have issues please reply.

On the other pc I also have Win7 running, and they are on a network. I can move the files around, but I want to be able to use my network (which is working just fine). I can stream the media over my network, but when adding new content or removing content MCE7 does not update the folder(s) that the content is in ...

Well, the files (mentioned before) are in 2 or 3 differrent subdirectories, and so far I have not been able to find a pattern, since all file types were added the first time I opened MCE, and after that none has been added or removed, even though they files were removed from the hard drive on the other pc, or some had been added ...
Tried a trick with opening WMP, tried to update the library from there .. Did not work..

    Still not working

Hey Swanson Photos. I reinstalled my Xbox 360 on the network, I added the Extender information on WMC, I tested all my connections and it still only picks up what is already there...won't take any of the new AVI files that I add to my Folder.

This is the Folder Location that it seems to look at C:\Users\Dave\Videos\DivX Movies\Movies & TV. I get the same issues if using Video Library option in Xbox360 as well.

All video files are in AVI format.
