tv tuner not available in media center

I just upgraded from vista to windows 7 x64 and I am having an issue with media center. I Have the Hauppauge 1250 tuner. It worked fine in Vista 64. My win tv 7 program is working fine and has all the analog chanels from cable. When I go into media center and try to set up the tv, I get an error that there is no tuner. I have tried reloading drivers and software, but it will not see the tv tuner.

Google for the KB974817 patch and install. It will update the WMP/WMC and in the process, possibly get rid of any errors or current configs that may be causing this not to work for you.

I am also having a problem with TV Setup. I get to the "Examining TV Signals" window where I am told the process may take several minures, But hours pass and this gets no further than all the dots on the progress bar filling in.
I have reached this point several times and have left it overnight to no avail. I had no problem when running Vista and I am using the same arial. I have also checked the ariel on two TV sets.

    Can anyone please help,

    Bill.

I tried reinstalling again just the drivers without the win tv program after removing all with hpclear. This time I did get it to see the tv card, but only the digital side, not the analog side. I did install the soft encoder, but it still does not see the analog side, and the cable is coming in in analog. Any ideas on how to get it to see the analog side. On previous install I installed tv7 and that works on analog side. I am only getting 4 clear chanels
