Windows 7 - Low / Half Video Framerates.

when I watch a video from youtube or anywhere else.
the first 4 or 5 seconds are fine, then after that the framerate goes to 2fps.
I was running full screen video fine last night with XP.
Nvidia drivers are updated and fine. I play 3d games fine.

Searched all the keywords I could think of. no results.

Anyone know whats broken?

Just an issue with the Aero interface ?
nvidia 7600 bfg 512 meg ram.
Cant run video + windows interface even with a decent card ?

Sounds like a web browser or driver issue, if it was caused by Areo then everything you did would be 2fps instead of 4-5 seconds after starting a video

What browser are you using and what graphics driver version did you download?

Just downloaded the new Mozilla off the net.
runnin the most recent 18X.XX something nvidia driver I got tonight.
Runs 3d games fine.
entire interface runs great.
but once video kicks in, the framerate drops to 4.

funny thing is... I was watching a video earlier and the framerate was
perfect, then i clicked on the thumbnail of the current window on the taskbar and saw the little thumbnail preview of the window i was watching the video in.. which made a second smaller version of the video play.
once that was on screen the video framerate droped and broke.
Ive reset the comp a few times sense then, even with no thumbnail on screen the video framerate is broken low.
Even with Aero / Areo theme disabled, framerates are still busted.


It was working, untill that thumbnail poped up.

SOLVED.

It appears my on board sound drivers may have been corrupted.
They were working well. I noticed that my video framerate bombed while viewing the thumbnail video.

I didnt get the onboard sound working again. I decided to disable it and go with a PCI sound blaster card.

Appears to be working atm.
