Windows 7: Can't find Windows Media Center

When I first upgraded from Vista Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium I was able to view a TV movie using Windows Media Center but I had accessed the WMC from a web site.

Now I can't find Windows Media Center, even when I press Start > and look in Programs. However, Windows Media Player is listed.

When I press Start and enter Windows Media Center in the search field nothing comes up.

In Programs and Features there is listed "Windows Media Center Add-in for Flash"

Suggestions please.

I know when I installed Windows 7 RTM windows media center wasn't obvious either. I had to find the option and toggle it on somewhere--right now I forget but I's sure someone will chime in. Now it appears in my Start>All programs-and if I select it a configuration tutorial pops up. I've never bothered but I hope you find the option.

edit---go to control panel--programs
go to program features
then turn windows features on and off
go to media
expand and make sure media center is ticked
select ok.

Re: "expand and make sure media center is ticked, select ok." It was, but, Indexing wasn't. Interesting what with the problems I've been having trying to get Indexing to search for Thunderbird email content.

Re: "WMC is ehshell.exe, located in "C:\Windows\ehome"" I clicked it and it opened WMC and it appeared to work correctly, very slick. I pinned its icon to the Task Manager, but it's still not listed among the applications or programs. Still, it's working.

I have the same problem. I can't find WMC in Windows 7 ultimate edition. I downloaded ultimate from my MSDN account and can't find it any where. I checked for the media section under "turn on or off windows components" section and there was no media section. I also tried to find the exe and there is no ehome file in that directory. Any help?

and download the files. It installs media center and media player. I don't know why MS couldn't have told us where to find this everything else in the installation seemed to go smoothly.

I only add to this because it is wrong and I came across it doing a search myself.

If you have Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows 7 (but not Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN)

To find and run Media Center you can type in the Start menu search: GoMCEDVD

If you are lazy, just type: GOMCE

It is not case sensitive so feel free to not use caps.

Then select GoMCEDVD to run the installation wizard.

Also, as mentioned if this does not work check to see if in control panel, program and features, that in turn windows features on or off, that under media features, Windows Media Center has a check mark next to it.

If you have Windows 7N edition use the above link posted by another member.

Sorry to post in an old thread, but I hate having users install software they do not need.

I checked 4 different installations here at home, 3 Home Premium, 1 Ultimate Edition and the above works fine.
