    Video skips sometimes

Ive been watching my videos on vlc player lately because it seems like my media player plays voices a half a sec faster then the actual picture. but recently i have been noticing my videos to skip, and when it does it pauses the sound for less than a half a second. like right now i was watching a movie it skipped i went back to the part to see if it was a defect in the movie, and then it didnt skip in that part it skipped like 2 seconds after that part...

Im wondering is something going on??? i have my task manager open to see if there is any cpu spikes but doesnt seem to go above 5% at max most of the time hanging at 0 or 1.... ive noticed this before in my tv shows, and it seem to be a hiccup but now that when i go back and it does it at different parts i know its a problem..

Are you using IDE or SATA hard drives? Green hard drives are for minimal performace machines.

Well this particular 1 was on my external, but ive had some straight on my desktop caviar black 1tb, and this has happened. so caviar black sata, external usb 2.0 if you look at my system specs youll see which hard drives i have.

Yes, I read your spec.'s...which is why I asked about a performance drive and a non-performance drive in the same PC...

If you have both internal drives on the same sata controller, both drives may default to the performance of the slower drive. I would shutdown, power down, unplug the slower drive (if it's not the system one), unlpug your external drives and check performance with just the Caviar Black drive.

hmmm, so your saying if i have the caviar green and the caviar black on the same sata connecter section, it could default to the slowest drive..????

You can prove that yourself...as I noted above.
