Windows 7 - WMC on XBOX 360 not working with WMP 12?

My media center cannot find my computer after i upgraded from vista to Windows 7. In the xbox-information it says it only works with WMP11. is this true? Well, as my connections not working (internet running smooth on my computer and xboxlive working fine) i read a guide how to 'downgrade' WMP12 to WMP11. I completed the steps but the result was that media player stopped working.

When I start it a window a apperas that says "you need to reinstall WMP due to malfuctions, you can do this at microsoft webpage." I followed these steps aswell but it does not work at all.

what to do? some kind of repair/reinsatll, then how? I tried reinstalling 12 but it says that it is not able to finish the installation since i already have a copy installed. And it cannot be uninstalled!!

The XBOX 360 works perfectly with WMP12, downgrading unofficially to WMP11 is asking for trouble (which you got!). I'd suggest either a system restore or repair install.
Once you've got WMP back up and running, come back and we can help set up the 360.
