Remove folders from Media Center

Trying to remove folders from Media Center. I went through settings, clicked on remove folders. But it doesnt help any. They are still there. Is there another way? I am not trying to remove the actual folders, just preventing them from showing up in the Media Center. Thank you for any tips.

After clicking on remove folders, a menu should appear for each of the media categories such as music or video...click them one at a time and then uncheck all check boxes that you do not wish to see the files of (you may have to scroll this view to see the whole list)...if you have a very large library this can take some time.
