you need a third party software to create icons .

I know of no way to actually have a image as the video file itself.

You could name the JPEG folder and stick it w/the movie in a folder and it will show the art.

or, Save the image as a .ico and change the folder its self.

See if this works:

You need a file named folder.jpg in each folder.

If the extension of the picture is ,jpeg, you would need to alter the registry script slightly:

Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpgfile\shell\Set as a Cover]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpgfile\shell\Set as a Cover\command]
@="cmd.exe /c rename \"%L\" folder.jpg"

In my case, when I navigate in Regedit to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, I find my Default association is ACDSEE.jpg.

Therefore I modified it for that

Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ACDSee.JPG\shell\Set as a Cover]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ACDSee.JPG\shell\Set as a Cover\command]
@="cmd.exe /c rename \"%L\" folder.jpg"

If your association is with another graphic editor, just navigate to that key and look for the default value, and substitute that for jpgfile.

i dont want to set a folder to have the icon. i want each individule .mp4 movie. AKA i downloaded Finding Nemo. when i put it with the rest of my movies, it showed the movie poster as the thumbnail unlike the others where it showed a random frame of the movie.

All my .mp4 files show the first frame of the movie or video.

I use KmPlayer, but I don't really think that's the reason why, it's the default for .mp4 filesas far as i can tell

Here's an online image converter, I used it on my movie folders. I know you said you didn't want folders but it's worth looking at Online Image Converter - Convert BMP, JPG(JPEG), PNG, GIF or ICO Files for Free#
