Network location for Xbox resets to public after reboot

I have a very simple setup:

My PC is running Windows 7 and is directly connected (by network cable) to my XBox 360.

I have configured my XBox to automatically start Media Center when it starts up.

The problem however is that everytime I reboot my PC, the network location for the XBox is set to "Public" for which streaming is disabled!

So everytime I want to start Media Center I first have to enable streaming for the Public profile, after which the network location automatically changes to "Work".

Is there a way to permanently enable streaming for the Public profile?

Or else to make Windows 7 recognize the XBox as a Home/Work network everytime?

Solution found!

I found a solution here

How to change the network type?

In short, I had to set my default gateway on my Windows 7 PC to the IP address of the machine on the other side of my network cable (Xbox 360 in my case).

Hope this helps someone else!
