Need facts about USB TV Tunner

Im looking to buy a USB tv tunner, and i was just wondering if you need anything extra, that doesnt come in the box. I was reading something about needing to be plug in with an Antana, however this is a desktop which is in my room and there is no way i can get an Antana is here.

Is there something so i can just plug the USB in not need to connect to my living room Antana?

Also how much do they usally cost

Even if you don't hook up to your living room antenna, You will have to have a seperate antenna(like the one in the picture) to get the signal over the air.
Here's the list from Windows Compatibility center,

Just remember one thing guys ... in some countries and areas within these countries we don't have the facility to receive an analogue signal any more. So when purchasing a TV tuner device make sure it can receive both digital and terrestrial signals --- or at least decode a digital signal (freeview ) for those in the UK

Yeah it's pretty much the same here depending on where you are, and how close you are to a signal, among other things. I just thought I'd give a few suggestions so he could see whats available.
You make a good point that he should know what is available in his area.
Thanks for pointing that out PooMan.:)
