WMP and ratings / parental controls ... missing something?

Ok, thought for the day. How to categorize and/or authorize the playing of videos thru WMP on network with various user accounts?

The "setup" in mind is just using or having a movie ratings system like there is for the games ratings under parental controls. So is there any other way to actually implement and use the actual movie ratings and setup a parental type control other than just DVD playback? I notice there is a tagline in the properties of video files(but not editable), why is this not implemented and used? Am i missing something or has MS forgot something?

I realize that media center has Tv parental controls. Shouldnt MS have some sort of 'system' thats editable by the user/admin for other video besides a DVD you pop in? why not use it like its done for games. This i cant understand.

I would be interested in all kinds of feedback on this. Maybe the later builds have changed this by chance?

Also i have not seen any improved performance with the library indexing, very slow and sluggish. also having to index every single time WMP loads up. Should be somekind of library cache it keeps (supposedly does) to make it load faster with the libraries. if not... i will find myself not using the libraries, which is one of the factors for me with win7, let alone not being able to filter content of video playback thru WMP and the libraries.

I know i cant filter a site like youtube or other onlnie video sites (other than setting up an account and 'ratings' thru the web site itself possibly). I just want to be able to filter my own content, with the given the file attributes that seem available, and use WMP for the playback and content filter.

this could be done with all sorts of media... pics, video, audio and docs

should be pretty simple for MS to implement. Hopefully this is in the pipeline.
