Windows 7 - How do we remove old movies from movie-list after del?

after deleting or renaming a movie the old filename still lingers in the movie section.

if i try to delete from within mce it just tells me the file couldn't be found, yet it stays there in the list, hogging space for nothing and making me think i have more movies than i really do.

what am i doing wrong?

i've even tried restarting system and mce many times

Here's where it keeps all that info, first you have to Show hidden files and folders,

Hidden Files and Folders - Show or Hide[2]=File Folder Settings.

Then go to Computer, C (or what ever drive your OS is on),Users, Your Name, App Data, Roaming, Microsoft, eHome.

In the DVD cover cache folder you can delete the ones you want.

In the DVD info cache folder you can delete all of it and it will refresh itself the next time you open media center.

Then you can go back and deselect show hidden files and folders.

Many users have been faced with this Windows 7 fallacy.
I don't know if you're using the Shark007 codecs or not, but if you are, beginning with version 232
I have implemeted a button on the Misc TAB just for this purpose,
'Rebuild WMP Library' - have a look at the screeshot.

I didn't even know that was there Shark, I'll have to use that. Seems alot easier that way. Thanks for pointing that out.
