    Display

After using setup to configure my TV/monitor, I'm still not getting the aspect ratio I want. My computer monitor is a flat panel 23 inch widescreeen from Dell and my TV is a 37 inch Samsung 1080p widescreen LCD. When using MC on either I can't get 16:9. I tried all the various combos but to no avail. Any suggestions?

OK, I got my computer monitor fixed by using the zoom feature. It's funny how I can watch TV on my Samsung even with the XBox360 turned off since I have it as an extender. This is the only explanation as to why I can watch it on the TV because I'm using my computer monitor to watch TV or record.

Because I'm new at this, I was wondering how is it that when I turn my TV on the signal is coming through since the setup is configured to the computer monitor? I can only assume that since the set-top box is also connected via component to the TV, it's sharing the signal with the monitor. Does that sound right?

I think what you have done is split the signal that comes out of your STB, one going to your PC and one going to your TV? If so, when you change the channel in WMC it is also changing the channel on your STB and therefore changing the channel on your TV. You can use WMC to watch TV on your PC and also use the STB remote to watch TV on your TV. The problem with that is that when you change channels from either place it changes it in both...is this what you are refering to?

Correct!! What is also bothering me is that the display on the TV during this time is in 4:3. The STB is hooked up to the TV via component and wondering why it doesn't display 16:9. Well you can't have everything.

How have you connected your TV Tuner to your STB?

Yes I have. Otherwise I couldn't get all the Time Warner channels.

Cable from the wall into "Cable In" on box and "Cable Out" on box to TV tuner. Now I have another issue. I no longer have sound from either WMC on PC or TV. Can't figure this one out.
