Problem with TV connection for Windows Media Centre

I recently moved house, to Clapham Common, LOndon and now have problems with my TV through the media centre. I get full free to air stations when watching through my TV, but when connecting the tv antena to the media centre and doing the TV scan it doesn't pick up any tv stations (just some radio stations).

I took my media centre to a mates house and he plugged it in and did a scan and it worked perfectly, so there is something wrong/interference in my flat in Clapham.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix, going crazy without the ability to record tv.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome.
With the information you gave it could be your antenna or you need to rescan your channels in Media Center. I would do a rescan in media center for starters.
    Hope this is a start.

What TV card do you have? Have you tried to manually scan for channels?

Desslok what do you mean by rerun the configuration to set up? I've done the rescan for tv channels multiple times and it doesn't work. really annoying as when I take my media centre to my mates house and plug in it works.

derekimo, re TV card I have the Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500 Dual digital DVB-T PCI TV Tuner card. It's not that because my media centre works at my mates house.

As I get full tv reception when I run the antena through the tv, I'm stumped why I don't get any tv when I plug it into my media centre.

Could it be the antena on our flat is incompatiable with the TV card?

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Seems to be your weak link, Did it ever work at your flat? Hauppauge sells a accessory antenna but I'm not sure that will help you out, Do you have any other TV's hooked up to that antenna at your place, So you would know that it works is why I ask. I wish I could be more help, But I have cable hooked to mine so I'm not too keen on antenna signals.

I too recently noticed the Media Center won't play live OTA for me here in Chicago. I'm using Dual AverMedia Duet cards. I'll try rescanning but the error said something about not having proper drivers of something. I also record shows in SageTV on the same box and everything is fine. I'll take a look at the exact error message when I get home and try a rescan.
