IR Remote for media center wont work

I am dual booting Vista Home Premium 64bit, which the pc came with, and Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and now my IR remote wont work in Windows 7. The laptop came with the remote and it works correctly on Vista.

I check my Device Manager and it says that 3 Devices have no drivers available for windows 7. Is there any way of getting the remote to work?

    Thanks,

Right click the missing driver, update driver, search online for driver, if that fails post back with your tv card details.

It says that no driver is available online(thats why I started a thread). And I have no idea what my TV card is. it is a laptop with the IR device integrated. If I would go on Vista and find out what it is would that work?

as a trial try 32bit, wont solve your problem but from what i have read and experianced MCE is at best flakey and at worst sh.1.t in 64bit.and the mce remote is realy picky.
As a up side the one thing that Vista did well was MCE, XP and to an extent 7 are not that good at it.(dont get me wrong the other available OS's are not all that either).

G'day I have just installed windows 7 32bit and have found too that the remote doesn't work... I have Asus notebook, which came with the remote.. and I have found most of the drivers which you can download for vista work or 7 too.

BUT I can't find the drivers for the IR?? Which I think is the problem??

    Anyone have any idea??

I Just fixed it... try and find the old driver for thr IR program..

Install it, and when you use the remote, it will auto intstall the hardware, just like pluging in a usb mem stick for the first time.

The drivers I found were just the old vista drivers off Asus web page.
