Windows 7 - WMC & xbox 360 Connection problem

Hi,

I have spent ages looking through the forums trying various suggestions but no matter what i do, I can not get my xbox 360 to connect with my laptop using WMC.

i get the communication failure messege.

I can however play music videos etc from my laptop over the network on my xbox with no problems. ie select video library on xbox then sellect my laptop as source and pic a vid from 1 of my sharred folders, then play & dada it plays through my tv. It just seems to be that media centre wont work.

i have tried removing the media centre connection on the xbox then deleting the memory, games WMC so that when i try to add an extender it loads the software from scratch.

the main thing that i can not do is uninstall the xbox extender from my WMC on my laptop!!! when i go2 extenders on my laptop it says extender found but not yet setup, only options are configure etc not uninstall.

I am thinking that when i tried to install the extender the first time it somehow got messed up and now when i try to re add it it is looking for the 8 digit code from the 1st install?

sorry for the long message, wanted to give as much info as poss.

I am wanting to use WMC on the xbox to try and stream content from the internet direct to my tv with surround etc.

any suggestions much appreciated...
