Windows 7: media center fails to work

08 Apr 2009   #1

windows 7 unknown build
media center fails to work

ok place to start is technicle

mke/model IBM thinkpad T23
RAM 757MB (soon upgrading to 1gb)
video details - super savage s3
video ram 16MB
hdd - 30GB
windows 7 build, unknown.

problem - media center gadget starts but freezes immediatly
media center returns "media center cannot start" via start menu

so basicaly it just doesnt want to work, i understand the graphics card may be an issue but it cant be upgraded, its hardwired into the motherboard. and windows 7 seems to co-operate quite well with it for everything else that doesnt demand to much rendering (i dont know how to turn rendering on though so if someone can point me to that it'd be great)

From Windows XP editions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia we see that the Video RAM requirements for MCE *XP* was 256 MB....

Media Center Recording Fails
I receive a "{Show Title} was not recorded due to an unexpected failure". The errors are logged in the error log. How can I debug this? There isn't much info there (just binary data). It seems to work for a few shows but then fails.

Media center choppy with strange work around

Does Directv work with Media Center 7
I want to make the switch from Comcast. I searched around to see if Directv would work with media center but all I can find is article from 2008 about how Directv stopped working on making their tuner compatible. But now its a year later and I can't figure out where this stands. Does anyone...
