    can't see .wmv files in video library (media center)


    Hello, for some reason, none of my wmv format videos appear within the video library on media center (Windows 7). Ironically, all quicktime videos DO appear and can be run. What is the deal? I never had this problem with video library on vista or media center 2005 machines

    Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I read somewhere (don't have the link) about a guy having the same problem as you, he said that renaming .wmv to .asf worked for him. You can try it. information about .asf here

    Thanks for the post. I DID install the windows movie maker 2.6, so I am wondering whether that could be my problem. Hmm..

    Can someone reading this post with Windows 7 tell me whether they can see wmv files from their video library (on media center)? That would at least tell me that it ISN'T a general bug with windows 7 and media center. Thanks for anyone who might do that test for me!!
